Bathrooms are no longer just rooms used solely due to necessity; they are instead becoming a space of style, sophistication and most importantly relaxation. The bathroom is the an area where luxury is proving more popular these days and this is largely down to the greater length of time the average person spends grooming, bathing and, maybe most importantly, unwinding from the stress-filled world we live in. Aside from luxury, bathrooms in more modern builds are designed with practicality in mind. Developers realise that a big family bathroom is a fairly important factor for potential home buyers and so they tend to be designed in such a way as to allow for many simultaneous users. Multiple sinks, child friendly baths and often a separate shower unit are all features one would expect to find in the perfect bathroom. Bathroom FixturesAs mention above, there are several fixtures that make up a bathroom and while we will go into more detail about each in separate guides, here is a summary. A toilet is probably the most essential part of the bathroom but you may also find separate WCs around the house with a simple sink unit nearby. In a full bathroom there may be more than one sink and potentially a bidet too. Baths are present as much for lifestyle as for cleanliness and the range of styles reflects the amount of time one might spend in the bath. Additions such as water jets can turn a bath into a relaxing spa experience while showers can often be found overhead should there not be a separate walk-in component. Bathroom FittingsIt is often the fittings that are added to a bathroom that create a sense of style with items like taps, cabinets, mirrors, towel rails and even toilet roll holders producing the overall feel of the room. Materials such as chrome, frosted glass and natural hardwoods can be used in combination to leave the room with a feeling of elegance that will make you want to spend even more time enjoying it. |
